Luxor Overnight Excursion

Day 1: Depart from Safaga in an escorted private convoy for a journey lasting approximately 3½ hours. The luxurious motor coaches are fully air conditioned, with reclining seats and equipped with rest rooms. Sit back and enjoy the unfolding vistas of barren mountains, flat desert and fertile land as your guide introduces you to the history of Upper Egypt.

Arriving in Luxor you’ll proceed for visiting the greatest place of worship in history, the breathtaking Karnak Temple. Marvel in awe at its majestic Hypostyle Hall with its immense columns. Admire the avenue of the Sphinxes and reflect on its Sacred Lake. Your next stop will be at the imposing Luxor Temple. Located in the center of the present city the temple built by the two Pharaohs Amenophis III and Ramses II was dedicated to Amun-Ra the god of Thebes.

You’ll then proceed to a leading 5* deluxe hotel on the banks of the river Nile where you’ll enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch followed by check-in formalities and a short siesta.

In the evening under a star studded sky, attend the Sound and Light performance at Karnak Temple which through the exquisite use of words, light and music will bring to life the history of this imposing temple and the achievements of the ancient Egyptians. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: After breakfast drive across the Nile to its West Bank where the Valley of the Kings is situated to visit three of the amazing Royal tombs of the valley. Stop briefly for photographs at the famous statues of Amenophis III, also known as the Colossi of Memnon, standing exactly where they once flanked the entrance to the Temple 5000 ago. Let your imagination soar and with the mind’s eye witness Alexander the Great gloriously entering the temple to offer one god’s obeisance to another. On your return to the East Bank you’ll experience the romance of sailing on the world’s longest river onboard the traditional feluccas sailing boats. An international buffet lunch will be served at a leading hotel in Luxor before you take the return journey to Safaga where your ship will be waiting for you.
